The U17's  kicked of their season with a thumping 184 run win at University Oval.

Skipper Nick Macdonald won the toss and chose to bat. Glenorchy made a great start with Danny Adams and Tom Coates continuing their successful opening partnership from last season with a stand of 64 before Coates was out LBW for 21. Danny Adams and Jordan Heather continued the good start and put on a massive parnership.

Danny was out for a well compiled 32. Jordan Heather showed his improvement from last season with a brilliant 52, his highest score for the pies. Jordan dominated the University attack consistently hit the bowlers down the ground as well as through point.

Jake Hartshorn was another Glenorchy player who dominated with the bat. Jake showed his aggresive style with a quick fire 61. He combined with captain Nick Macdonald (44) in a massive partnership of 116.

The Pies eventually finished of with a huge score of 272.

In the field  Glenorchy got of to a great start. Dylan Young claimed a well deserved early wicket and had finished with impressive figuires of five overs 1/11. Jordan Heather was again in the action this time with a brilliant early run-out.

The Pies target of 272 was never really threatened. All bowlers contributed well and a constant flow of wickets saw University bowled out for 88 after just 29.5 overs.

Glenorchy had a even contribution from all players which is a great sign  for a succesfull year for Dave Adam's team.
