Geeves off to Perth and Round 7 wrap

Glenorchy's golden boy Brett Geeves is off to Perth to cover for the injured Peter Siddle for the 3rd and final test against the West Indies.

It is the second time this year Brett has been callled into the Aussie test squad so from all the club congratualtions and good luck!

Round 7 against South- Sandy didn't provide the results round 6 did for Glenorchy as the only Pies team to walk away with any points was the 3s.

1st Grade were bought back to earth only narrowly avoiding outright defeat, the 2nds failed to make enough runs and the Under 17s suffered a late order collapse as all three sides went down to the Sharks.

The best individual performances to come out of the round for the Pies were:

Jimmy Kapellar's 66- ball 102 playing in 3rd grade,

Ricky Martin nearly eclipsed Jimmy's effort with a knock of 94 off just 60 balls but ran out of overs denying him of a century,

Sean McGuire's maiden first grade fifty with a entertaining 63 off just 48 balls in 1st grades first innings,

Damien LeRossignol finally got amongst the runs with a well compiled 65 in twos,

and Lucas Green top scored for the 17s with 47 and Nat Wood chipped in with 3/ 38 as they narrowly missed out on the points.
