South Hobart Sandy Bay travelled to KGV on the 7th December to play a catch up one day game from the round 1 wash out.
Batting first the undermanned sharks posted a healthy 233 on a dead wicket the pick of the bowlers being Brent Cartledge 0/24 off 2 overs and Rob Dilger 0/19 off 2.
Some poor ground fielding, wides and the odd dropped catch helping their total pass 200.
The pies began the run chase in blistering fashion at one stage being 2/157 with Brad Absolom hitting his highest 1st Grade score to date with a solid 67 he was well supported by Dane Anderson 55 and Rob Dilger 38 however with the introduction of part timer pie thrower Travis Little the wheels fell off big time with the star studded pies line up going from 3/181 to be all out for 215.
The Sharks plucking two run outs out of there arse off defections from the bowler didn’t help but with top spot riding on the result some of the shot selection left a lot to be desired from blokes who should know a lot better.
Hopefully the loss acts as a wakeup call not to be too complacent as we look to cement a finals berth in the next few games.
