Geevesy playing for Australia

Glenorchy's own, Brett Geeves has been selected to play for Australia for the upcoming One Day Series against Bangladesh.

In what is just fantastic news for our club, Geeves has been given the opportunity to join the world champions because Brett Lee has withdrawn due to personal reasons.

Geevesy will gain great experience lining up alongside the likes of Andrew Symonds, Matthew Hayden and Michael Clarke who he probably thought he would never get to play alongside.
He is also set to learn heaps off Australia's current one day international pace bowling stars Stuart Clark, Nathan Bracken and Mitchell Johnson.

It is a surprising and just reward for Geeves, who led the Tasmanian bowling attack to their second one day domestic title last season, winning Man of the Match honours in the final. He also spent close to 2 months in India immediately after the domestic season, playing with the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.

We wish Brett all the very best for the series in Darwin, we will be watching and listening with great interest and look forward to the next edition in his series of Blogs.
