Round 3 saw our one day game against South Hobart Sandy Bay relocated from Queenborough Oval to Fergusson Park, Pontville.

This meant that the Dilger boys had only a short drive to the ground rather than the 3 hour hike from Mangalore to Sandy Bay.

Losing our opening 2 t20 games the week prior meant we seriously needed to grab a win against the Sharks to get our season rolling.

We sent the Sharks in on a reasonable looking wicket, looking to use whatever assistance there was for the new ball after 2 days of solid rain.

The Pies put on a bit of a display bowling and fielding well, which allowed us to pick up wickets at regular intervals.

Sandy bay were all out for 91 in 41.2 over with Seany Mac grabbing 3 poles, Rizza 2, Rob Dilger 2, Jack (Kelby Pickering) Young 1 and Dilg picked up his standard 2 run outs.

Taking only 4 specialist bolwers into the game meant we had to find 10 overs out of our batters somehow. Dilg thought he would solve to problem by bowling 10 straight down the hill for a handy return of 2/18.

Joshy Walmsley provided a funny moment hanging onto the laziest looking sharp catch ever seen. A welcome change to see a catch being held in the slips.

Speaking of, a quick shout out to Abbo. Hope your knee recovers soon and your hands come back as slippery as ever.

The chase got off to a stinker with Dilg (The Bowling Allrounder) kicking one away for a duck in the first over, and Wasti Ripper following after skying a pull shot in the next over.

Josh and I then steadied the ship and went about chasing the low total in 18 overs. Walmer playing some sexy looking cover drives off the back shoe on his way to 44no.

Shots that are only seen in Nathan Butterworth's dreams....about himself....opening the batting...Whilst using his Tower 200. Look forward to getting you back at 10 soon Chimes.

A really good allround performance by the boys, and great to smash the song out for the first, of hopefully many times this season.
